TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE:
These notes have been complied for your guidance and to ensure clarity. Also, in compliance with and for the protection of our various Operating Licences.

1) As a condition of the issue of a Private Hire Operator's Licence by Rother District Council, all journeys must be booked in advance, either by telephone, e-mail, internet, or in person.
2) When booking, customers are required to provide their full name, address, postal code and telephone number, plus full details of the pick-up date, time, location, destination address, required arrival time, any special instructions or requirements and the name/s of all passengers.
3) A price for each journey will be quoted and agreed at the time of booking. Where applicable, road, bridge, or tunnel tolls incurred en-route will be charged at current net rates, added to the cost of the journey and clearly stated in all quotations.
4) A non-refundable 25% deposit will be required with all confirmed bookings. Should any details of an advance booking subsequently need to be changed, the deposit paid may be transferred to the revised booking. In the event of a complete cancellation of an advance booking less than 48hrs prior to the start of the journey, the deposit paid will be forfeited.
5) Deposits and balances may be paid in £ sterling, or in advance by cheque. Cheques should be made payable to ACE PRIVATE HIRE SERVICES. At least 10 working days must be allowed for cheques to clear the banking system, before the date of the journey.
6) Full payment of the balance of the agreed price will be required before commencing the journey.
7) Credit / Debit cards cannot be accepted at the present time.
8) An introductory discount of 10% is offered to all new customers for their first journey, carrying up to 4 people to or from any mainland UK location. All journeys must either start or end in the Bexhill area.
9) To claim the introductory discount, customers must complete the booking confirmation details on a valid ‘flyer’, as issued by ACE (illegal copies of the ‘flyer’ made by others will not be accepted) and send it with the agreed deposit to Ace Private Hire Services, 11 Salvington Crescent, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN39 3NP.
10) The introductory discount is not applicable to road, bridge, or tunnel tolls incurred en-route (see clause 3 above).
11) The introductory discount offer ends on 31st December 2010 but may be extended, or withdrawn at any time, without prior notice. Please check when booking your journey.
12) For the comfort and safety of passengers and in compliance with the law, seat belts must be worn at all times during the journey. It is the responsibilty of passengers to comply with and be fully aware of current legislation regarding the wearing of seat belts, especially in relation to children. If you are unsure, full details can be provided.
13) Child booster seats are available for use, free-of-charge, if required and should be requested when booking. Baby or toddler-seats are not available.
14) For the comfort and safety of passengers and in compliance with the law, smoking is not permitted in the vehicle, at any time.
15) For the further comfort and safety of passengers on longer-distance journeys, comfort-stops will be made at appropriate locations, at approximately two-hourly intervals. Please advise if these arrangements are unsuitable.
16) Unplanned stops (which might be requested en-route by passengers) could incur an additional ‘waiting-time’ charge starting from £1.50* for each 5 minute period, or any part thereof, which must be paid for in £ sterling by the passenger, on arrival at their destination. (*Applicable for up to 3hrs waiting, between 07:30 and 22:30hrs only. Outside of these hours, additional charges will be incurred. Please refer to the 'Fares' page for further details).
17) Diversions from a planned route (which might be requested en-route by passengers) involving significant extra mileage and time, will incur an additional charge of £2.00 per extra mile, or any part thereof, which must be paid for in £ sterling by the passenger, on arrival at their destination.
18) Well-behaved pets, especially Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs, are very welcome to travel free-of-charge in the spacious rear luggage compartment.
19) For the comfort and safety of passengers and the driver (as well as your pets), dogs must be restrained and secured via a lead or harness at all times. All other pets must be appropriately caged, or boxed, during the journey.
20) ‘Fouling’ of any part of the vehicle by passengers or their pets, howsoever caused, will incur a fixed valeting charge of £100, payable in £ sterling on completion of the journey.
21) Passengers are politely requested to refrain from the use of any form of foul, abusive or offensive language and/or hand gestures, at all times during the journey. Failure to comply will result in ejection from the vehicle.
22) Passengers are not permitted to consume alcohol, nor use any form of illegal substance at any time whilst travelling in the vehicle. Failure to comply will result in ejection from the vehicle.
23) Potential passengers who are clearly deemed by the driver to be over-intoxicated by alcohol, drugs or other substances at the time of pick-up, will not be permitted to travel in the vehicle.
24) Any form of ‘unsocial, abnormal, offensive or sexual behaviour’ during a journey is deemed unacceptable and will not be tolerated. If necessary, offending passengers will be politely asked by the driver to leave the vehicle, or in exceptional circumstances, may be forcibly ejected by police officers at the request of the driver.
25) Referring to clauses 21, 22, 23, & 24 above: In the unlikely event that passengers are either: a) not permitted by the driver to enter the vehicle; b) asked by the driver to leave the vehicle during, or before the completion of a journey; or c) ejected from the vehicle during, or before completion of a journey by police officers at the request of the driver, no refund of prepaid charges, or any part thereof will be made.
